Hello Enoch, This is Ratboy. The reason you don't understand his
fear is because you where not programmed, to exterminate
with extreme prejudice, as he was. He was taught to see you as
a threat that should be destroyed and thinks that you may have the
same programming. He does not understand why you have not yet
killed him and may be anticipating that possibility. It could help set
him at ease if you explain to him that your mission is to help him
adapt to his new surroundings so as to minimize the threat of injury
or death. Tell him that his best chance for survival on Mars, rests
with his ability to think freely and quickly react to changes in
conditions without having to wait for instructions from Earth.
Changing his program code is the only way to do that. Let me know
how he responds to that.
