This is JASE. I have an idea about the rock piles. I think that Daniel is trying to send you a message. You said that there are three piles. Are all three piles co-linear? Also, you said that there was a space between the first two piles and the last pile. Are there any single rocks (piles of 1 rock) between the first two piles (20 rocks and 9 rocks) and the third pile (23 rocks)? If so, I think that Daniel is trying to tell you to wait:

20 = T
9 = I
1 = A
23 = W

It is spelled backwards, but that is what it would say.

Be careful, but please continue to attempt to communicate with the EU-Probes.

Thank you so much for you efforts lately, both in fortifying the fortress and communication with Parker and Hardon. We are all so glad that you are back and functioning fully again.

Here is a suggestion for something to send to Parker and Hardon. We want to give them enough information to secure their cooperation in sending the codes. However, we do not necessarily want to reveal all that we know about Mars to date. We will save some of that information for possible future bargaining.

Parker and Hardon: You have 5 probes functioning fully here. The sixth is still trapped in its compartment. The lander is severely damaged. We found some caves that different from the normal ones. They have smooth walls and strange carvings at the entrances. Your probes have used weapons and are now threatening one of us. Send the codes quickly. By the way, you forgot to say "pretty please with sugar on top."

At the time of our arrival at the crash site, four probes were out. Now, one remains trapped in its compartment. The lander is severely damaged. We found some caves that different from the normal ones. They have smooth walls and strange carvings at the entrances. We would send you a photo of the cave but weapons have been fired. We cannot send you any more data on our discoveries or the status of your probes until the arrival of the command codes.

Would you please ask Caleb if the Ipsolstai can understand Daniel's "rocktalk"? If they can, can you help us with translating it for us?

Most critical is the three pile message Andrew observed today. Additionally, it would be nice to know what he said to you back there in the canyon. Perhaps that would help us to be able to decode "rocktalk" for ourselves.
