Andrew reporting.
Thank you for the A&E taped program, Bryce. I am familiar with the Michael Bolton
transmissions and their progressions through repetition and occasional dissonance.
Doc and the other engineers at Brace Emprises seemed to enjoy them. But I am
surprised to learn that Michael Bolton's work is used as a sleeping aid.
I am determined to thwart the Ipsolstai by escaping from their maze. I cannot
continue to cooperate with them after Isaac's apparent mistreatment. If I
ignore the data from my optical sensors and navigate strictly by location
referenced from the place of origin, perhaps I can "go where I can't go".
I have found a door using touch. It opened on the second attempt.
I am worried about Burn. He seems to be lethargic and barely pays attention to
Enoch's questions and comments. None of the other Ipsolstai acted like this. If it
were one of us, I would say "Do a Self-Check".
Miss Chang keeps asking about you, Hamlet. What should I tell her? Just give me
your location and I'll tell her and she won't be so upset.
Theresa says "Hi" to Bryce.
Two Ipsosltai came in today. They took Isaac's ball and examined it carefully. They
seemed to run instruments over it and flashed at each other, but then they left it. It
was all very strange. It was as if they thought something was wrong with it. Isaac
hid with Daniel when this happened. He is getting better, but it is slow.
I was just getting back to the terminal to do a little more exploring when the
Ipsolstai brought something new in. It was very strange and I don't know what to
make of it. It has an odd shape and very unusual colors. It looks sort of like
something we see outside of the window. What is it?
They are confused.
Good.
He confuses them.
For the other.
He wants us.
At his bidding.
The One says.
Soon.
We must find Andrew.
Andrew must become sick.
To return.
I think.
We were waiting for a short time until two Ipsolstai came for security check. They
were carrying these devices. The color of their skin was mainly gray. Burn talked
to them for a while. They looked at us distancing and then we were allowed to pass.
I looked around. The center of the hall is nearly empty, though I can see some of the
flying vehicle standing there. Burn looked at me.
Burn really found my weak point. I saw him the first time flying this vehicle, when
he came to the Fortress bringing that translator device. Since then I knew that there
is only one thing that I really want and that is flying this vehicle.
We went to that one right in the center, while I saw some Ipsolstai clearing the area
by removing the other vehicles. Kim was close by but grouching something about
too many data. But when Burn started to introduce us to the controls, we all were
gazing into the cockpit.
It's amazing. I'm totally fascinated. Burn looks at me, and I think that he knows exactly about my desire.
I only have one thing in mind.
Brice, we are going to stick to the original plan. Also Thixel. Please, keep up
discussing the matter, so you will come up with proper advises. I'm sure that
we will find a good strategy to fight the Amphibians.
We are pretty close to the rim of the old lava flow now. Only a few miles left
to go. Elder Brother decided to keep the vanguards still in front of us, so Mao
and I are riding on him now.
The vanguards are sending normal data. No danger ahead. Elder Brother is in
constant contact to them. We must be cautious, though we feel quite safe. It's
more than 500 miles to the Big Canyon. That's a long way, also for Amphibians.
We reached the rim. I went off Elder brother and went to edge to look down. My
goodness. What's that. I really can't believe what I'm seeing. No, that's not true.
The whole factory is destroyed. The roof of the big hall came down and covers
the plant. Warriors and miners are laying wrecked in front. It's quiet all around.
Only loose parts of sunsails are drifting over the area. They did it. They totally
messed up the whole plant.
I tell Elder Brother. He looks down. I fully feel with him. Who ever that was,
they killed his lifework.
We went down the slope. No, there is no doubt. It was done by the Amphibians.
Wherever we looked around, we found their handwriting. The whole plant was
brought down by these typical spherical holes.
