Oh dear! Daniel did something he should not have. He was twitching and shaking
and doing everything that he was doing and then he walked over to one of the terminals
and started to press spots on it. At first none of the Ipsolstai did anything,
they just watched, but then something happened. There was a lurch and I felt that
same weird feeling. The Ipsolstai around in the room seemed to stop for a minute
and twitch. Finally two of them started to move, though not very gracefully, and
pushed Daniel away. Perry is furious! Nelson is arguing with him and Daniel just
keeps muttering. Can't we ever keep Ipsolstai from becoming angry?
Knowing how not we are, friend removing hyperspace
the Guardian-of-Younger-Nestbrothers from.
From what Nelson says, it must be bad indeed.
The way is opened.
My duty,
is done.
I cleaned the I-Flyer. It took me more than twelve hours. First I thought that
it would be enough just to clean the glass dome, but then I found out that the
radar stopped working because of the film on the casing. So I had to do the
entire craft.
I opened the access panels, and Elder Brother looked into them, to see if maybe
he can repair some of the damage. But he said he couldn't. I'm confident that
I can handle the I-Flyer even in its present condition, so I took off. The controls
respond, except it is sluggish when spiraling, and also I will avoid climbing up
very high.
I checked the Amphibian radar. They are still around, although not jumping. I
found a group of three dots further up the Big Canyon, another group of four
in a side canyon nearby, and there are also two single dots.
No sign of the flyers we saw when I took Zachary off the battle field, neither
on the Amphibian radar nor on the other one. I also checked on the lander that
came in recently, and I also looked for that huge ship that we saw orbiting. Both
items negative.
"Zachary, I'll keep flying. How about going for the Amphibians?"
Hi, Dr. D!
It's always a good day when you talk to me. I decided that I'm really better off
on Mars where there is not such a dangerous combination of oxygen and humidity
as you have on Earth. But I'm sorry that you can't come here. I know that Enoch
would be happy to clean your lenses. I remember seeing you do that a lot.
I was too scared to tell anybody about Burn and the eggs after Caleb made the
hole in Burn's side. I just took Theresa and the eggs and ran away. But I didn't
mean to stir up so much trouble. Theresa and I are hiding. There has been a lot of
Ipsolstai activity in the tunnels, with groups of them looking in side tunnels.
Theresa used the translator box, so we learned that Caleb is making all of them look
for the eggs. I never would have taken the eggs if I knew Caleb wanted them, but they
were just ignored in the corner, in their container. I never would have taken them
if I thought it would make so much confusion.
Well, now I won't let Caleb have those eggs. He was mean to Burn. The only one I would
give them to is Burn's friend, that Annihilator Commander Fitzgerald.
Andrew reporting.
We have a serious condition developing. After Daniel's rash behavior, two of the
Ipsolstai crew summoned a big EME robot. It picked Daniel up and carried him over
to a far corner. Daniel kicked with all six of his legs, but it didn't make any
difference. He is shackled to the bulkhead. There is a heavy chain around the
middle of his casing with the other end attached to a wall stanchion.
So far, Bette and Isaac and I have not been taken into custody. Of course,
our behavior has been more consistent with our diplomatic role than Daniel's. At
least we have the common sense not to rush in and operate highly technical
instrumentation of unknown function.
Daniel has spoiled our chances of ever returning to Mars. Nelson will not want
to help us now. Farewell, Gail! Be true to your vision. Enoch and Zachary,
loyal and courageous warriors, persevere!
Enoch did a fine job with his cleaning work. EB III couldn't fix the I-Flyer, but
Enoch wasn't to stop to take off. He said that he could control it. I don't know.
I'm constantly watching him. The I-Flyer is badly slugging up there. I really don't
have a safe feeling concerning that.
"Enoch, take care! Won't you like to come down?"
No, he didn't want.
We are moving up the Big Canyon to look for the Amphibians now. Also Elder
Brother agreed to do so. I mean, he lost nearly all of his warriors except of three,
and his own two units too. But he said that times of crises were times of chances,
and that if you die of fear, you are dead too. So he went on saying that we have
to face the facts. Somehow, I've the feeling that he is using all his strength just to
encourage himself.
Oh, wait a minute ...
Al-Q, can you send him a new Star Trek video after that? I think that he badly
could need some relaxation.
