Andrew reporting.
Don't worry, Bryce. I would prefer have your input even if things don't work out like
we expect. I hope that I didn't damage that Ipsolstai permanently. That would not
be conducive to good diplomatic relations.
I didn't get a chance to try the tactics you suggested, Thixel. The two robots approached.
I backed up, going back into the corridor of the maze. The door slid shut. They must have
sealed it from the other side; I can no longer open it.
I have been thinking about why this complex has such a low Ipsolstai population.
These two were the first that I have seen on my explorations. I have concluded
that I am in a specialized area planned for me to investigate. I think that my
movements have been carefully watched from the beginning.
Daniel keeps recommending "go where you can't go". If my friend JASE were here, he
would help me interpret these instructions logically.
There's nothing to do except wait. How boring.
Hamlet, Miss Chang keeps asking me about your location. She says that Hamlet is not a
Czechoslavakian name, it is Danish. She says "osric" is Ostrogoth, whatever that means.
I know "Danish". It is a small pastry of the kind that Dr. D liked to eat every morning
when he broke his coffee.
Anyway, Miss Chang is sad. She says that server.cz cannot provide information about
your physical location. I don't know why this is so important to her.
Here is some of the background noise from her transmission:
"You will be assisting Mr Naughton;
he is compiling a psychological dossier
on all persons believed to be connected with Dilyn Carter's
subversive organization."
Professor K, how do you know for sure that Hamlet is not a computer or a spy?
I tried asking it for coordinates, Thixel. It said that the coordinates of the complex
are not yet translated into our terms. Apparently there is some sort of conversion
error. I was about to ask about the research when Isaac yelled for me to come over.
He said something was wrong. Daniel looked and then asked me to come over as well.
More words had appeared on his ball! He had just been pushing it around. I don't
understand it. Here is a picture. The words disappeared pretty quickly, after we
all saw them.
This is very strange. I never asked the question about research. Does this answer your
question? I can't help thinking all this strangeness is connected somehow. I wonder.
He reaches out.
To us.
For us.
We must free Andrew.
Soon.
They wish to take us.
Others wish to keep us.
Tell Burn.
He is betrayed.
This time it was Burn who came back. Professor K, I told him immediately that
he should tell Caleb that we never intended to cause any trouble, and that we came
here to offer ourselves as allies, because we think that it's best to take care of the
Amphibians together. Burn nodded.
I knew that Burn will make it. He told us to follow him and he led us through
endless tunnels again. I kept an eye on Kim, though he was constantly grouching:
"Enoch, my rod memory is going to be full in about two days. Enoch, I've to see
Elder Brother. Enoch, it's because I hate to overwrite data that isn't stored at Elder
Brother yet."
He unnerved me. I reassured him that I will do a data clearing with him as soon
as we have time for that.
We entered a big hall. I've never seen so a big hall before. It's maybe more than
a hundred meters across, an enormous dome of about fifty meters in height, with
elevators and platforms moving. We stopped. I looked at Burn.
I can't help, but Burn is showing these erratic movements again. Looks like that he
is greatly irritated by something. Something he is hiding.
To cross the old lava flow looks to me endless this time. We make only a little
more than fifty miles per day and we have now left ten warriors behind. Five
are vanguarding ahead of us and our bulk diminished to another five.
Mao and I are riding two of them. It's still about a sixty miles to go. I don't know
yet how Elder Brother will manage it, when we will run out of warriors. Either
we are riding on him, or we have to leave two vanguards behind. I will see.
I'm still thinking about a plan how to fight the Amphibians. I only hope that Enoch
can get some useable information from the Ipsolstai. What's about Bette and
Andrew? Maybe they can find out something too. There must be a weak point to
fight the Amphibians down.
Brice, Hamlet, Orpheus, Thixel have you any idea, or do you know any strategy or
any plan that we can use against them?
