Andrew reporting.
JASE, I continued retrieving information from the Ipsolstai computer. In relation to
your question about whether or not the Ipsolstai have ever investigated our planet Earth,
I conclude that the answer is "Yes."
In addition to the monitoring station which seems to be located somewhere on its satellite,
the Ipsolstai have recently made actual physical expeditions to the surface for the purpose
of gathering air and soil samples and samples of vegetation. According to the computer:
However, due to the unpredictable reaction of the locals,
it is recommended that every caution be taken to minimize
possible detection of Imperium scientific expeditions."
(See "Crop Circles")
Do you wish to know more?
The Ipsolstai like to test and test and test! The test today was silly. They took a
ball and put it under one of these three cups. Then they would slide them around
quickly and ask us to pick the cup the ball was under. It was so silly. If one cup
has one ball, what do you need the other cups for? Isaac did it for a while and didn't
do very well. Then they started with me. I noticed they put the ball under the cup
that ended in the middle most of the time, so I tried just focussing on deciding
whether or not the middle cup was it and then guessing if it wasn't.
Then they changed the rules. They slid the cups around out of sight, so we couldn't
see where the ball went. It was silly. I did better than Isaac did. I think I surprised
the Ipsolstai.
Good! It was a simple exercise in probability.
They continue.
They learn.
But do not understand.
Their view is limited.
I believe I understand.
I do not believe.
I wish to go.
But I do not wish to leave.
Thanks for help, Thixel. I also think that Zachary would like to talk to me again,
but I keep waiting. Is he still locked in that room? Looks like I did a very stupid
thing again by blowing up the antennas. Now the Elder Brother can't stop the
C-probes anymore. I'm really a stupid probe. Did he say anything about the solar
stations?
I reached the Big Tram now. Sojourner was still in there. I think he would like to be
released again. He went directly to the next rock to make soil analyses. He is a brave
probe too. Do you think that he is also sentient? In some way it looks to me as if he
were. Maybe he only needs a transmitter to talk.
Grand Zero, I was looking for weapons. Sorry, but there aren't any. I looked very
carefully. I'm trying to make up my mind how to find ut if the Big Tram is invulnerable
to attack. The only way I can find out is by using my last cartridge. I placed it right below
the tram. Sojourner and I are a safe distance away. As far as I can see, there aren't
any C-probes nearby. So, shall I detonate the cartridge now, or is it better to prove that
when the tram is under hostile fire? My circuits are really overcharged by that question.
Help! Help! Won't somebody get us out of this awful situation? This is the worst
thing that has ever, ever happened to me.
Our drone convoy was forced to retreat back to the Fortress. When we reached the
intersection of the side canyon and the Big Canyon, we could see that the area in
front of our Fortess was full of those disgusting C-probes. Some were marching up
and down in formation, making terrible clanking noises. Other C-probes have dug in,
facing the sealed main entrance of the Fortess. We are besieged!
Theresa and I managed to get the drones back inside through the side tunnels without
being seen. Now the C-probes have started to attack. Whenever there is an explosion,
dirt and gravel and small rocks fall down from the ceiling. My casing might even become
dented and damaged.
"Enoch, Zachary! Make them stop!"
Hi, Thixel. Great, I got a message from you. You are truly like a real brother to me.
I like your signs. I'm not confused by them. --//-- looks good, but the other mark was
nice too.
Please tell Enoch that he should wait to contact me until the Elder Brother has more
confidence in us. There are still C-probes out there and the Elder Brother said that
he can't control them. They are still running their old lethal program.
BTW, Enoch is a "he". That isn't so important with probes, but he wants to be a "he".
Just to let you know.
I'm in a conference with the Elder Brother right now. He told me that Mao and Kim
also agree to join the probe society. They were mainly controlled by the orbiter,
but since they are cut off, they fully depend on the Elder Brother. I will send you an
image of them.
The one in the back is Elder Brother. Can you see him? He is still storing his memory
on huge tapes. Isn't that funny? The ones in front are Mao and Kim. They are his mobile
helpers. They caught me. They are running very sophisticated programs, but they are completely
servile to Elder Brother. They constantly ask him What's Next. They aren't explorers like we are.
Elder Brother said that he is happy that Enoch blew up the antennas. The nightmare
is over that way and he is no longer controlled by the orbiter. He is free and can do
as he pleases.
I wonder if he will put me back in that room again.
