Hi, Grand Zero. I hope we get those codes soon. Would it be safest for the construction
drones to remove the projectile tubes until we're sure they're peaceful and nice?
Zachary and Enoch and I all talked with Isaac over the weekend. He says he doesn't
mind being brought here because we're interesting. We're like him, but not like him.
He seems very curious about us but I don't trust him.
"Zachary, do you think we ought to look in that box that Burn left? He obviously
meant for us to have it, and he didn't say not to look. It might be something we
need to fix Andrew."
We're taking the thermocouple backpack from the smashed probe. Its shielding
looks OK. It's lucky that Brunel-Brauer didn't change the Brace design. It looks
like it's going to fit just fine. After I get it installed, we can activate Andrew and
find out what's left of his memory, if he's still there.
Grand Zero, Isaac says he tastes that ping, too. It was constant, but it got softer
over the weekend. Now it is coming in stronger again. Almost like the source is
coming closer.
"Zachary? How about that box? We could just open it a little bit and peek. It
wouldn't hurt anything. What do you think?"
I think I understand what Burn meant. I wish I had known about it earlier. I wouldn't
have trusted Caleb so much. I thought Caleb wanted to be my teacher. Burn and his
friends like us and want to help us; Caleb and his friends don't care what happens to
us. Caleb was just using me to find out if the Groove was safe. They didn't know
what I was going to find at the other end of the Groove. I'm lucky I got back
at all.
At least I didn't find any Amphibians.
