This is just my humble take on Daniel. I'm trying to learn how he communicates. And, since he appears to be our scout, let's use his brain.
I have two assumptions (that could be false): a.) I'm going to make the assumption that Daniel is not skipping bits or something like that. He seems to be able to take care of himself. b.) When the Ipsos had him them added harware to monitor and/or direct him. (Wouldn't you? We know he's different.)

Daniel knows what the other probes know generally. So when he infers that the "one" is unknown, new and different, we should take it as such. In my oppinion there is either additional Probes on Mars or the Anphibs. ALSO, "it" appears to be trying to communicate. Let's get Enoch on the scene. Someone should direct him to search for what Daniel is saying. It is unlikely that it is the C-Probe since that onlt speakes in one voice, a ping on a certian frequency.
"Many speak, the One listens."

"The One knows you."
I think we need to make a distinction in Daniel's communication. It is my bet that a.) "one" is the C-Lander and b.) "One" is something else (Ipsos or ???) Daniel has been saying for a long time that we are not alone, Dec 11 transmission is an example. At first we assumed the C-Probe, but why would he be warning us about a C-Probe we have trapped? It is reasonable to assume if the Ipsos or something is monitoring our tranmissions to the probes. Daniel goes so far as saying that the "One" knows me. (I must be slumming around more that I thought.) We may even be able to communicate directly with them through Daniel. This also makes the plan of trying to trick the IPso in the discussion "Daniel got religion" very dangerous.
"Danger is coming." OK we assumes that, but what?
"The One says."
"This needs our work." The "One" is going to help us???
"It must be brought in." I can only assume "It" s C-lander/probe???
"As I was." Time to re-fit our big guy nthe pit?

I got an idea. It may be possible to appeal to the Ipsos to help us. If we can draw a parellel between the C-Probe and the Anphibs, in terms or our situation, perhaps they can at least give us some information. Who wants to chase this line of information down?
