I don't think we really have jamming capability at the moment, but I don't think we will really need it. As for using Bette and Isaac to broadcast something, keep in mind that a rocket could cause a rock slide which might trap them forever 'neath Olympus Mons.
Now, if I recall correctly (anyone, feel free to correct me here), the C-station is not very close. Didn't it take Daniel two days to get back from it? Of course, this distance would also allow the attacking probe to hide before the bogeyman got there to defend his home.
As for the Chinese planning for the C-Probe to be able to get out of the pit, I don't hink that's what is bothering me. I was brought up in a socialist country, and one thing you learned about communist planning was that they made sure to take care of all the BIG prioblems, but they often didn't think about little details. This would give them a massive military power that, although it often broke down, was big enough to handle most problems. I think that is probably the case with the C-Probe too.

What would be a very socialist (and I think generally intelligent) thing to do, would be to wire the C-Probe witha very powerful self-destruct charge, so that once it had completed it's mission, it couldn't fall into enemy hands. In fact, this would turn it into one giant offensive weapon for it's last mission.
As always, comments, ideas, flames are welcomed.
