Well, time again fro me to throw out some ideas, and see how crazy they sound. Here are my WSU ideas for getting rid of the C-Probe:
1) We will soon have the laser that delboy sent zachary (I hope). If this turns out to be powerful, we can use it to attack the C-Probe. Maybe if we could get a direct hit at one of the missile heads, we could make it go boom! Problems with this idea: We have to get close enough to aim and fire, and Gail wil certaintly object to this course of action.
2) We can ask Ipsos for help. I already suggested this idea to the probes. Of course, they could probably use our help from #1 above. Problems: The Ipsos are possibly hostile at the moment, and could be a threat in themselves.
3) We can trap the thing. Maybe we can lure it (somehow, I'm not quite sure how yet) into the cave Bette aand Isaac discovered. Then we could cause a cave in, trapping the Destructor.
General Notes:
I would hazard to guess that the Destructor has minimal contact with it's makers/home base.It seems to have been sent as a bulldog to clear out any foreign (read us, E-probes, J-probes, and Ipsos) interference, and then be followed by a secondary lander to do the colonizing duties. Keep in mind that so far we are the only unarmed group up there.
