Umm.. Let's see here.. We have large tracks leading away from the rubble of the stage two lander. We have one known intelligent species on the planet (who may or may not have decided they don't lke us), three confirmed landings of probes (us, destroyed J-probes, and EU) and one more suspected probe landing (C-probes, we haven't actually seen them).
Who in the above groups has the capability to leave large tracks while destroying our lander? Not to mention give out that annoying pinging noise. I have this odd feeling that the Ipsos could be quite a bit more hostile then thay seem. Maybe we should ask our Ipso friends next time we see them if they know what happened.
If it's not them, I have the following WSU guesses at what happened:
1) The Amphibians have established a base on Mars (waaaay WSU)
2) The lander we saw did not contain C-probes, but instead a large lander-destroying pinging juggernaut (or something similar)
3) Whatever it was that Daniel saw when he was out with Gail (looked sort of like a tram, remember?) Decided it (or its operators, see main message or WSU #1) did not like the spiffy paint job on our Stage two lander and would obliterate it.
Please pardon overdone sarcasm, and reply with any ideas/comments/suggestions, but we must plan on how we can deal with this threat.
