But if we are unable to get Isaac to change his command codes, we can still influence his way of thinking* and I don't think there's time to waste on at least paying him some attention. As I said to the probes, I may be mistaken, but it appears that he's being bandied about by the probes who have "better" things to do. Think of 'our' probes as adolescents and Isaac as a toddler. None of them wants to be the sitter, consequently, they pass him from one to another. Ignoring him for a short while will probably not be harmful...may even prove beneficial. But it is not a good lifestyle for a kid.

Perhaps I'm anthropomorphizing here, but the probes have shown human-like learning and their AI _was_ developed by humans, which may lead to human-like aberrancies in development. I'd just rather not take the chance.
