It's sugar. Specifically, a monosaccharide or hexose sugar, either dextrose, glucose or fructose.

Early on in the probes' exploration of the tunnel system, some was found on the floor. There are supplies of it sitting in large boxes in side passages of the tunnels, but since we don't know anything of Ipso physiology, we don't know what would be considered an adequate supply.
