Reading today's inbounds, I got a chill, probably way off the mark, but I'm somewhat wary of Isaac now. Follow The Leader may be an innocent game that the probes learned in their initial, terrestrial education, but it may cause our probes to follow the lead into a trap. This feeling was reinforced by you, Hamlet, with the suggestion that a numbers game would be a good way to get access and command codes. This is a two-way street.
All of the "Why?" questions may reflect Isaac's actual developmental level, especially given the haste in which he and his siblings must have been developed and launched. BUT, would you give a gun and a flamethrower to an 18 month old? P&H might, especially if they counted on more direct control of the probes, but we cannot discount a possible ploy on Isaac's part to lull 'our' probes into a false sense of security.
As I said, I may be way off the mark, but Isaac is still a product of the enemy camp and needs an wary eye cast upon him at all times.
