I think you are correct on this, we can fix one probe or the other.
But Andrew may be fixed with out taking parts from the other probe. He has some will have some memory loss. How much is not known, and we will not know until he is started up. He may be the same probe but with memory loss or he may be a blank (newborn) probe. It will be hard to tell until we have him started.
To fix the other probe will require taking parts from Anderw and then Andrew will not be able to be fixed with out that part replaced. Now Andrew can run from solar power, but he could run better if we take the backpack from the other probe.
For My $0.02, I vote to fix Andrew.
