Call me Ipso...
My continuing mission -
To explore strange new worlds
to seek out new life and new civilizations
to boldly go where not Ipso has gone before.

Now I learn that my home world has been zapped by a bunch of killer toads.

I close my shutters (groove) and go to bed (700 year stasis), hoping it'll all go away by the time I wake up.

When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter,
I sprang from my bed to see what was the matter (sorry 'bout the mixed metaphors).

I'm worried that the toads might have come back for me. I check the shutters - they're closed.

When what to my wondering eyes should appear,
but a sentient machine (sorry, no reindeer).

Hmmmmm...why don't I just send the machine out on the lawn to see if the toads are still there. After all, he keeps fiddling with the shutters and says he's curious about what's out in the lawn.

Yeah, that's the ticket. What a great idea was just dropped in my lap (lucky punch).

get my drift?
