If the "U-DECAY THERMOCOUPLE" section refers to a uranium-decay generator, this would sound more likely than a magnetic field anomaly as it would have to be a really, really strong field to disrupt a link that could withstand the rigors of transplanetary flight.

If this is correct, is there any way to clean it up?
