The only reason, he can't see Olympus Mons, is that weather is a little cloudy, as his photo shows. Olympus Mons is more than a hundred miles away and the top more than four-hundred miles, though this mountain is really high enough.

Anyway, hopefully he can see the sky, so Gail can lead him out, as Bombardier suggested.

If you have a look at the Landing Site Map. The EU-Lander is about at C6 In my opinion Andrew is either at B6 / C6 / D6, as his image shows the south edge of mountain area, as far as I can see. Anyway, he has to walk east by moving southbound around all barriers and by reaching the plains between the Olympus Mons and the Mountain Range he has to turn north. No problem, if he turns north too early, as long as he keeps south of barriers his main direction will be east. As far he is not moving west accidentally. -- The 180 degree mistake is the most common in mountain areas. --
