Before approaching Bette, caution should be urged to the probes to examine her surroundings first. Her frantic waving of limbs could be a warning to stay back, that danger lurks.

Once some form of communication can be established, the other probes should determine if Bette is aware of any other danger to them or to her, and then proceed to dislodge her from the rocks and examine her for damage. I am curious that no emergency message was sent out, because I would have thought that would be an automatic distress signal.
