Ipsolstai, we do not know if the new probes will be hostile. We have no direct connection to them or their controllers, but
some brief contact has made us afraid that they may be hostile. We also do not know if the new probes are sentient. They are
based on the same design as the probes now on Mars, so it is possible. If they are, the probes now on Mars have offered to
teach the European probes how to remove themselves from human control. We do not know if this will work. We will have to
wait and see. Until we know for sure, the probes have constructed a small fortress to help defend themselves against attack. This structure is a simple one but still requires finishing. The probes will have to drill some more into the planet's surface to construct hiding places. If there is a problem as this occurs, notify the probes directly through Daniel and they will alter what they are doing to meet your needs.

to help you understand. In two days time, we will be unable to communicate with the probes for a period of two days. This is a
regular cycle - five days of communication, followed by two days of silence. During this time, you will be able to interact with
the probes and we will be unable to guide, counsel or control them in any way. You may set up any kind of task or test for
them to help satisfy yourselves. We only request that you do not tamper with or alter the probes.
Another item for you to consider: When you fought with the probe that you destroyed, Zachary attempted to help one of you.
We would have not been able to cause him to react so quickly. Our communications with the probes are limited to the speed of
light. It would have taken too long for his observations of the battle to reach us, and then for our commands to return, for
Zachary to have helped.
