You have hit on a very important possible development here. *If* Daniel is now the hybrid product of Human and Ipso technologies, and *if* we have made the assumption that the probes are sentient beings in their own right, then I don't see that *we* have the right to demand or even request that the Ipsos return Daniel to the original state in which they found him (you termed this *normal*). Daniel may have made this decision on his own and if we are true to our stated beliefs of the probes' autonomy, then it should be Daniel's decision alone whether or not he wants to be returned to his former state of being.
