SUBJECT>How much do we trust the ETs? POSTER>joule EMAIL>@the.lab DATE>July 17, 1997 at 10:48:33 EMAILNOTICES>no PREVIOUS> NEXT>3001 LINKNAME> LINKURL>

At this point I trust that their intentions are not sinister. However, the hairs on the back of my neck are still standing up (Xanthos - I mean a sense of fear like that shadow that I can't quite make out in the corner of my eye as I walk down a dark street.); like Gail I sense something is not quite right. My theory is that the ETs, by studying Bette, have figured out how to communicate more directly with the probes. They have installed one of these devices on Daniel, thus the new antenna and CPU that Zachary noticed. I think that they now intend to install one of these on Enoch and Zachary. This is potentially a great thing. No more having to "debug" the ETs broken English. On the other hand, Daniel seems rather wooden, shall we say? Although, it's a bit difficult to judge from half a dozen words, plus who knows how his personality has developed in isolation. With no one to talk to, he may have become a probe of few words - he only says what is absolutely necessary and hasn't learned to be chatty like the rest. Nevertheless, I am worried that Daniel "lost" something of himself when the ETs installed the new CPU and antenna.

I think Enoch should question the ETs about what they intend to do. Is there a way to ask Enoch to do this without scaring him? Also, Zachary should be extremely cautious about following Daniel. I think he should engage him in conversation and question him about the new equipment. However, ultimately if the ETs are determined to modify the probes, they will and the probes can't do much about it.
