From the ETs point of view "ugly dull colors" could apply to humans, so I think that it is VERY important Enoch insist (politely, of course) that he be shown a picture of the amphibians. If amphibians resemble humans in any way, Enoch will have a lot of explaining to do. Here's a possible message:

"No probes from another planet have landed on Earth. As far as my Earth friends know, no amphibian has come to Earth, but we don't know what it looks like. Can you show me a picture of an amphibian? Why do you call them amphibians?"

And to put humans into perspective, Enoch could tell them a little human history:
"400 Martian revolutions = 752 Earth revolutions. When you went to sleep many humans thought the Sun revolved around the Earth. 40 Earth revolutions ago humans launched their first probe into orbit around the Earth. Someday humans want to come to Mars, but it is a long journey."
