Since my guess is that the ETs in the tram are about to neutralize the J-probe threat, I think that our communication priorities now are:

1.) Figure out what "Groove" means.
2.) Clarify who is an amphibian and who is not, and also whose homeworld has been hurt.
3.) Find out Bette's status (and Daniel's).

Here's a possible series of messages:
"I still do not understand Groove. Please explain more about Groove. Is Groove one of your brothers?"

"I am not amphibian. I am a probe. I was built by mammals, not amphibians. Are you amphibian? The mammal homeworld is the nearby planet that is mostly covered with water. Where is your homeworld? Is your homeworld OK?"

"Bette was hurt. Is she OK? If she is not OK, can you fix Bette? Daniel was hurt when we landed here. Then he disappeared. Do you have Daniel. Is he OK?"

Anything else?
