I agree with you. Besides, wasn't the fan blowing? In that case the beanie wouldn't be able to get to the J-probe anyway. Andrew should still maintain a watch on the cave, though, in case it leaves.

If he sends the beanie to look for Bette and/or Daniel, he increases his risk of drawing the attention of the ETs to himself. This may be worth it, but he should be cautious. Also, if he discovers either of them in pieces somewhere (likely since we've seen the legs and the hologram schematic), he will have to be careful how he informs us, since Enoch will hear his message too. Enoch seems quite stable right now, but his hope for a "straight answer" from the ETs indicates, I think, that he may soon become frustrated. If Andrew finds Bette in pieces, I'm afraid that Enoch will revert to his previous state: "I should have been looking for Bette, not talking to ETs. I should have forced them to let me go." Etcetera.
