The badly formed image appeared to me to be indicative of mis-matched scan rates. It looked to me to be an exageration of the moving dark bar phenomenon we see when a television camera attempts to transmit images presented by a monitor screen.<p>I forget who postulated the ETs might be writing backwards because their electron gun scanned in the wrong direction. If that is true, the screen from which Andrew is attempting to get a picture is also scanning in the opposite direction to that of Andrew's camera. Wouldn't that cause the distortion we are seeing?
