If we can be sure that the J-probe can't go down the shaft by itself, then I would suggest causing a landslide and trapping it in Jose's cave. The landslide should be done in such a way that the J-probe does not see Zachary or Gail and so does not realize that it was deliberate. Even if the J-probe can clear away the rocks eventually, it would give Z and G additional time to set up and protect the second transmitter and give E time to communicate with the ETs without interruption from the J-probe's explorations. We should decide on this quickly, since we don't know how quickly the J-probe can cover 200 miles or whether Zachary or Gail can get to Jose's cave soon enough to set up the rock slide and get under cover.
