I don't know. Did the Japanese ever sign the Geneva Convention? Wasn't that part of the plot of story about the bridge over the river Kwai? Besides, being an international, loosely associated group of individuals, I am not sure that the MARSupials would even qualify to sign the Geneva convention, so I think that we are safe there. But in accordance with our stated objectives, as so eloquently stated by Xanthos, I don't think that it would be RIGHT to FORCE a sentient being (mechanical or biological) to work against its will. I think, that we would want to modify its programming, and treat it as we would any of the other probes.
