Before we can decide whether or not it can be "set free" we first have to be able to evaluate its programming.<p>If it does not contain an AI program then it is little more than a drone and can be safely used by the Probes as a new tool.<p>If it does have an AI, then they need to be able to seperate it from its controllers before they can talk to it and give it a chance to choose for itself.<p>If it does have the AI and it chooses to return to its masters, I think the Probes are then obligated to put back the original control codes (although modifying the program to remove hostility to themselves may not be out of the question).<p>Koala, Captain, Team Andrew
