Before we go taking things apart, are we sure the probes have the dexterity, etc., to put everything back together again, run and reattach cables, align antennae, etc?

I still vote for leaving the comm platform in place and intact and setting up the transmitter/antenna from Stage 2 in some more secure location. We could use one for primary communication and one for back-up or one for communication with the probes and one as a decoy.

I think moving something as large and complex (and damaged) as the Stage 1 lander is a waste of time and effort and too great a risk. We should at least set up the other antenna and get it working before disassembling or moving the platform.
