Consider this for a moment.  Wherever they learned to spell in English, there is the possibility that the ET's know the probes don't understand written language and that there message was meant for the MarSupials.  To accept that premise, we have to consider that they know the probes are communicating with and taking direction from us.  I can't figure why the lettering was in mirror-style, though.<p>Captain Zot
