But when were the MN missions launched?  It takes months to get to Mars from the Earth.  If they are within two weeks, they were probably launched well before P&H knew anything about the "troubles on Mars".  In fact, the group arriving in two weeks is not the one from P&H, but from the Japanese.  To the best of our knowledge, they know absolutely nothing about what is going on with the Brace Emprise probes.  While you are correct not to count on being able to reprogram the new probes, I think that it is definitely worth a shot.<p>Taz
