I think, they had been bothered by the power emission of the platform, when Zachary
attempted to transmit the image, or maybe by Zachary's boosting the power of his
transmitter. I don't think they realized Zachary at the landing site nor do I think, their
radio screaming had been a simple coincidence, for it had been louder than H&P and
the probes never reported about radio emissions before.

After all they aren't bothered by probes to probes or probes to Earth transmissions. It
seems they don't even realize it. Nevertheless, they will consider the offered transmitter
as a possible weapon too, as well as they will avoid to get possibly trapped also, but I'm
sure, they will understand the gesture of getting something offered as an invitation to
start conversation. Therefore it doesn't matter, what present it is. An old shoe would do
the same and we aren't far apart of an old shoe, as the transmitter is without power pack.
