The unit he put on the ground does not have an power. The probes don't have any that can be removed. No Batteries. The Stage two has some larger prower units but they need to be setup and have wires connected to them. That was part of the power for the housing units. the module that the probe has/had has a card edge connector with a ten pin connector on it and a plug in for a coax cable. The pins are 4 for power +24,-24,gnd,+5, Signal in 2 pins ( one is gnd ), 2 pins are a gain control ( one of them is a gnd) , and two pins are power output ( not used on the probes but we used them in the testing of the units ) .
