How likely is it that the EBEs perceive radio-frequency transmissions as being similar to their "white light" weapon and the probe's lamps? I know light and radio are really the same thing, but in practice their effects are very different. The probes describe their transmissions as analagous to sound, not light. Would Daniel have referred to "silent" communication as "dark talk?"

Clearly the EBE/EMEs see radio transmission over a certain threshhold as a threat. (Did Bette "shout" when she met them?) The big tram responded by transmitting very loudly on all frequencies ("every voice I've ever heard"). If that was meant as an attack, it wasn't effective. It seems to be separate from the "white light" weapon.

As a side note -- evidently the probe's own assault frequency, the one they used to frighten Daniel (and which shuts down the user's sensors), was not one of the ones the big tram used.
