His preoccupation with the drones could be his way of rationalizing giving up the search for Bette. We've all praised him so much for being a leader, brave and strong. Maybe he doesn't want to admit that he's scared.

I had not thought of this. He seemed to perk up so much at the thought that the legs might be Daniel's (we'll have to work on that if we ever find Daniel), that I did not detect any despondency in his transmission. Of course, given his behavior pattern, all that self doubt is probably lurking just beneath the surface. All the more reason to make sure Andrew accompanies Enoch so that they can balance each other.
