I agree with you, let's allow Enoch to try. That is what I said in my transmisions to both of them. I tried to emphasize how easy it is to get caught up in "the new toy" and set a limit of 2 attempts before abandoning the tram for walking. I think that is probably the best compromise.

Having the tram at their disposal could be a real boon. It gives them fast and easy mobility, presumably beneath a great area of the Martian surface. The downside is they could wind up almost anywhere on Mars and be in an even worse position to help anyone.

I am in favor of their trying. They need to feel they are making a positive effort. Enoch, especially, needs to feel that he has some good ideas and is capable of being a strong contributing member of the team (he obviously still feels inferior because of the missing legs). Until we can come up with a better idea, I think we should allow "our children" some independence and grant them the status of improved maturity they have been earning.
