I like the idea. But several obstacles pop up...

First, does this radio being toted about include a reciever, or is it just a transmitter? Remember, Daniel's receiver seems to be working. If it only txs, it wouldn't completely solve the problem of communication, and may create even more havoc.

Second, how do we give it to them so that 2a) they aren't afraid of it, and 2b) they know what it is? Imagine being the recipient of alien technology. Just a plain metal box with runes on the outside and a few wires hanging out. The robot that gave it to you is gesticulating...but is using Martian gesticulations. What do you do with it?

Third, there may be a security concern. This is the radio for the drones. While the ETs may already know what frequencies are being used by the probes - and let's face it, ETs with machine paralyzing "death rays" probably already have that radio wave thing down pat - we may not want to go and volunteer such things at this point.

But other than that, I see no problems.
