I agree, we don't know the precise specifics of the "beam weapon", but we do know that visable light is involved. Either the "weapon" is very inefficient and emits visible light as a side-effect, or the visible light IS the primary component of the beam. If visible light is a primary component of the beam, any reflective surface should reflect at least *some* percentage of the light for *some* amount of time.

There are more than a few if's in the above and no concrete figures, but I don't think we should dismiss Zero's suggestion.

I am not a scientist, so feel free to tell me I am all wet - I won't be the first time!
