The Emergency Transponder is a separate device that is not connected with the normal transmitter. It has a battery, printed circuit board, and a relay.   It has it's own coil that acts like a antenna.  A probe can not cut it off with out pressing a button that pushes a set of contacts on a latching relay apart.  Hope that explains why he has not used it .. He could have set it off but it would not make a good way to comminute with the other probes.<br>Dr.D
