the probes have all kinds of scanners. I know of radar and IR and Short & Long wave , EM and RF also.. the chemical has a destructive test where the item being test is zap by a spark and the gasses given off are look at. I don't know much about it I just saw it demo-ed a time or two. It looked neet..
