Sometimes when I sit in a text screen for more than a few minutes,
(as would happen when composing a long message), I lose the connection to my isp. (internet service provider). If you are having a problem with this, I suggest creating the message in notepad. If the connection is lost, you can re-connect and then paste it into the text box of the message screen.
Many isps are beginning to "time out" users
who show no activity after a certain amout of time. This is because people are abusing the new "unlimited access" rates. Many
folks are logging in to their isp in morning and staying on all day, even if they are not doing anything on the net. This ties up phone lines. In Calif, the phone lines have been so jammed that it's hard to get a dial tone on the phone. People can't even call 911 in an emergency! This also makes it hard for other users to connect to the net. I don't mean to say that any of us are doing this, it's something I read recently, and I pass it on as information only.
