Given the developments in today's inbounds, asking for the command codes is probably not a good idea. After such a long time of being on their own and being *asked* (with lots of "please" and "thank you") rather than *ordered*, they seem to resent the idea of being forced to do something via the command codes.
We can use this to our advantage, I think. In addition to stressing that we are Jose's successors and that we care about their well being, I think we should say that we won't ask them for their command codes because we trust them. Furthermore, I think we should tell them a little more about the multinat's, that the people who are asking for the command codes are not our friends, and that the human who may arrive in the future may not be friendly either.
Also, we should consider asking them not to set the beacon for stage 2 to land to prevent or at least slow down the MN's ability to physically interfere with the probes. We should not make the probes too paranoid or afraid, though, and we should leave the decision up to them, i.e. no demands. This will reinforce trust and set us apart from the people who are trying to get the command codes.
