Don't worry about insulting me. I am as apt to make mistakes as anyone else here. A third-party perspective is always important.

I noted Andrew's response to that statement and will use a better selection of vocabulary in the future. I do think, however, that a little bit of a scare might be good in that it will help him to be cautious over the weekend and beyond. I agree we don't want him or the other probes so scared they can't get anything done, but fear is an important part of the psyche in that it helps us to recognize and deal with potential threats.

If you remember, I brought up the difference between the information we were given by the MarsDawn staff (that all probes had to transmit to the communications platform to exchange data) and that sent by Bette and Enoch (that they could relay for each other). Unless our terrestrial sources are wrong (or worse, misleading) it is reasonable to proceed on the basis that a conflict in information of that type indicates a change in status on Mars. The question of what fix was performed was asked but not answered. I continued on the line that the answer would have been there was a modification done - admitedly, that could have been a bad assumption.

That was the only thing you said that rubbed me badly. I accept it in light of what you said earlier and reject the notion it was intended to insult. I think you can see that I believed I did have my facts straight. I believe you can also see that I am not so enamoured with my own ideas that I cannot accept you or someone else might have better ones.
Let's work more at working together with Andrew. Acting as "reality checks" for one another will be a help to us both. The address I post is a real one and is available for you or anyone else to use to reach me during my off-work hours (20:00 to 06:30 EST/EDT).
