Metal is defined as, "An element, the structure of whose atoms is such that these readily lose electrons to form positively charged ions. Metals usually have luster and a high specific gravity, and are malleable, ductile and good conducters of heat and electricity."
Obviously, "not metal" is everything else. So what is in between?
