<P>I looked again at the image and saw the designs you mentioned, but I think they are actually part of a single spiral pattern. If that is the case, could it be the "fan" cut the tunnel out of the rock and the pattern is an artifact of that cutting? We may be seeing it as it retracts back underground.<p>That still begs the question, "What the h*** is that tunnel for?" Any ideas?<br>
