How much RAM does your machine have? Netscape is very touchy on RAM issues. In fact, we often use it to check and make sure we don't have poor RAM or RAM/CPU incompatibility because it will cause a page fault sooner than anyhting else. If your motherboard/CPU setup (when you start the computer up, there is an option to go into setup before anything loads) allows you to specify the speed at which your chip runs, I would try stepping down the CPU speed. This might take care of the problem.
