Happy to oblige, ma'am.
I wear boots (low heel "ropers) a lot. I wear them most of the time when I wear jeans. I do not wear them with suits, dress slacks, or shorts. I don't wear them to bed. Since I wear jeans to work most of the time, I wear boots to work most of the time.
I have a straw "Resistol". My wife doesn't like it much, so I don't wear it much. It's pretty much reserved for occasions when I need the western look...rodoes...C/W concerts, etc.
Here's a bit of the general trend. In the bigger cities (Dallas, Houston, San Antonio...) I would estimate around 10% of men wear boots as regularly. If you move out into the small towns and rural areas, that percentage moves up to around 90%. Hats are rare in metro areas, but more common in rural areas - maybe 20%.
More than you really wanted to know, right?
