Change the date system on Probe Control.  Rather than using Earth dates, use Martian Sols, as NASA does with Pathfinder.  That would make this about Sol 104 or so.<p>By using this method, if there is another system problem, it would be possible to pick up where we left off, rather than having the probes continue without our aid.  Example:  The system crashes late on Wednesday August 6/Sol 110, but Harry can't get it restored until sometime Saturday August 9.  Rather than having a full five days pass for the probes, come Monday August 11, it is still only Sol 111.<p>This is just a suggestion.  I can also see retaining the current system to add realism to the plot.  But I also think that the Sol System might be better for continuity, and more appealing to newbies and lurkers.<p>*<br>*<br>*<br>B
