As Don has already posted, our goal with the new reports is to provide a third-party outsider's viewpoint. We did not want this outsider to be so smart and insightful to eliminate the need for you (the MARSupials) to do anaylisis and provide the TRUE leadership of the probes. As a result, we decided the outsider would be rather stupid about what is going on. This lack of understanding by the outsider means the reports posted by the outsider would only be able to provide a superficial anaylisis which would overlook much of the work and goals established by you (the MARSupials). The result was that the first such message came across as unduely harsh.
The report *exists* in the MarsDawn universe now. We are struggling with how to make it a better fit. Please look at it as intended - the outsider is the fool, not the MARSupials. Any bad advice or anaylisis or insult made in the report means indicates our effort to demonstrate the ignorance of the outsider NOT as an intentional attack of the MARSupials.
Enough about what went wrong. Why did we add these "features"? Our intention is to provide another tool through which we can present to you another point of view. While the advice given will continue to often be misguided and foolish, sometimes, we may try to identify through these reports areas which you may want to investigate further. When looking at these reports, try to evaluate if you are already dealing (in a better way) with the issues raised. If not, it may remind you to persue those areas.
A last note to clarify our intent is to draw a comparason between the new reports and the old Eon-4 Zip Team Report. I never followed these reports so can not speak with authority. I have been led to beleive these "reports" were misguided and superficial (perhaps insulting). This is the model we were following. Please join us in laughing AT the Dilyn's Team Report as I hear people laughed AT the ZIP Team Report.
Again, thank you for providing us an opportunity to explain our intent. The staff has been kicking outselves backstage since the first report was published. As amatures, we are finding we make many mistakes and it is nice to be reminded that we CAN come clean. Again, the staff did NOT mean to insult you (our guests) and apologise for (again) not being clear in our intent.
